Dr Michael Harden is the Head of Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital. Before becoming a Doctor, Dr Harden completed a Chemical Engineering Degree and worked in Western Australia as an Engineer. After completing his residency Dr Harden completed a Masters in Biomedical Engineering, bridging his Engineering and Medical background. Complementing his Engineering background, his special interest is major chest wall reconstructions and customised implants for reconstruction. He is working to develop personalised implants with existing commercial products in the field of chest wall reconstruction.
