Associate Professor Gavin Wright is Director of Surgical Oncology at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, and thoracic surgeon at Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is the Research Lead for Lung Cancer and Screening at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC). Prof Wright is recognised as one of Australasia’s pioneers of minimally invasive surgery, initially with multiport VATS, then Uniport and Robotic VATS. He proctors robotic surgery in Asia. As an academic, Prof Wright has a PhD in molecular biology of lung cancer and published over 150 peer-reviewed papers. He has been involved in multiple trials of peri-operative immunotherapies and targeted therapies.
